Meet Suzanne Massel

Throughout my 30+ year legal and business career, I’ve navigated pivotal transitions—from litigation partner to in-house counsel, HR director, business leader, and now coach. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the complexity, pressure, and consequential decisions that come with leadership roles and career transitions.

A consistent thread throughout my career has been helping others think clearly in moments that matter. Whether advising clients and leaders, mentoring colleagues, or making decisions myself, I focus on asking the right questions, clarifying priorities, and helping people navigate complexity with confidence and sound judgment.

That work led me to found Massel Coaching & Consulting, where I partner with attorneys and professionals at pivotal moments —whether they are growing in their current roles, taking on greater responsibility, or navigating career transitions. I also work with college students and early-career professionals, helping them move from college to career with clarity and confidence.

My coaching blends deep listening and powerful questioning with strategic insight, drawing on my experience inside organizations and leadership roles. I bring a grounded, real-world perspective to every coaching relationship.

Clients work with me to gain clarity, strengthen their leadership presence, and move forward with confidence – whether deepening impact where they are or stepping into new roles.

I hold a J.D. from Washington University School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from Tufts University. I am a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and an Energy Leadership Index (ELI) Master Practitioner

In addition to my coaching practice, I serve as a Mentor with Chicago Scholars, supporting ambitious students from under-resourced communities as they pursue higher education and grow into future leaders.

I live in Chicago with my husband, where we raised two children. Outside of work, you’ll find me outdoors, gardening, playing pickleball, or enjoying live music.
